Ti's Intimates ABCs

Let's educate you on all lingerie accessory and its use

Baby doll

A short nighty with an empire waist and shapely cups with matching panties.

Balconette

A bra with wide-set straps and a horizontal neckline that provides less coverage than a demi cup. Often functions as a convertible bra.

Bra Band

Circling your rib cage, this lower part of the bra should fit snugly but comfortably to support your breasts with or without straps. 80% of bra support comes from the bra band and not the straps!

Boyshort

A cute and super comfortable alternative to the thong in the fight against the dreaded V.P.L. Sometimes referred to as Boyleg short.

Bralette

Wirefree light coverage style with no defined cups. Typically worn by smaller busted women.

Bustier

A long line bra that extends beneath the breasts to the waist and provides a sexy way to support and control. Cinches the waist and smoothes the bodice. You'll never feel sexier.

Camisole

A woman's undergarment with shoulder straps(skinny or wide), that covers the bust and falls to the waist, either tight-fitting or loose. Often worn as a layering piece. It was originally designed as a cover for a corset.

Chemise

A chemise is a loose-fitting dress-like garment that falls from the shoulders and hits anywhere between hi-thigh and the knee. It can be worn as an undergarment or as layering piece.

Center Gore

Area of fabric between bra cups that should fit flat and smoothly at your breastbone.

Convertible Bra

A bra that provides multiple styling options, the most typical being a strapless style and racerback style

Cups

Provides coverage, support and shaping for your breasts.

Demi Cup

Smaller cup shape that provides less coverage. Best for average frame figures.

G-string

A g-string is an ultra thin and sexy panty that's attached to the front and back of a waistband and covers your essential assets. Provides minimal coverage and eliminates VPL.

Garter Band

A very sexy way to hold up stockings.

Garter Belt

A belt that wraps around your waist, with clasps that attach to stockings. Very retro; very sexy!

Helenka Lace

Nylon lace that stretches due to the nature of the knitting technique.

Hook & Eyes

Adjustable rear closure of the bra. For best fit, make sure the band is tight on the first hook - as the elasticity gives, you can tighten to the next series of hooks/eyes!

Straps

Sewn directly behind the cups, the straps allow the braback panels to lay flat and comfortably across your back. For best fit, bra straps should be adjustable and positioned snugly on the shoulder. Straps should never carry the main weight of the breast.

Push Up Bra

Made from a foam pad that is thicker at the bottom and narrow and thin at the top cup, this bra cup silhouette provides bustline enhancement(lift) and support. This is a bra that's sure to accentuate your bustline as well as your self-esteem.

Soft Cup Bra

Bra without an underwire. May or may not have cup definition. Typically provides a soft and natural look. Large busted women often find this more comfortable than an underwire bra.

Stretch Satin

Smooth and shiny fabric that still allows you to move. Usually contains spandex.

Teddy

A sexy bodysuit.

Thong

Similar to a G-String, a thong consists of a thin narrow strip of fabric at the back and runs vertically from crotch to waist. Provides minimal coverage, but more coverage than a g-string.

Wings

The back and side panelsof the bra band. Wings should lay flat against the body without pulling or wrinkling.

Underwire

a wire (plastic or metal) sewn into the fabric that runs just under the breasts to frame the cups, to gently lift and support.

VPL

Visible Panty Lines. A definite wardrobe "don't!"
